Located at the northern end of the Macedon Ranges,  Metcalfe Valley produces cool climate wines from grapes grown and hand crafted at our vineyard.  

Our vineyard produces premium wine grapes which are crafted into award winning wines by local winemakers. Chardonnay was planted first in 1993 and Pinot Noir in 2000. The vineyard site has proven itself ideally suited for the growing of Gewürztraminer which was included in the first Chardonnay plantings by a happy accident. Seriously good wines and delicious wood fired oven pizzas (plus starter and dessert courses) are served in one of Victoria’s best rustic cellar door sales areas—the Paramoor Barn.  All this with Scott Cameron’s evocative piano music and songs, make this is a Budburst location not to be missed.

This story began in 1974 at Kingower  with plantings of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.   In 2010 Passing Clouds made a transition to Musk continuing  to produce stellar reds.  The emphasis now on ultra cool climate varietals Pinot Noir and Chardonnay  complementing the range. Graeme Leith has since handed over the reigns to son, Cameron.

Andrew Pattison, formerly at Lancefield Winery, has been producing Macedon Ranges wines for 25 years, winning 2 trophies and numerous medals.  One of the biggest ranges of local wines available this weekend.

Five great boutique wineries have come together to create a mini event over the Budburst weekend. 

At Rowanston you will  meet five passionate winemakers and sample the great wines they have produced.  Rowanston’s large shady garden is a great spot to relax and celebrate Budburst with fine wines as well as yummy food sourced from Rowanston farm and the great food producers of Kyneton and the Macedon Ranges. Take in the great vistas of the McCarg Ranges and enjoy the foot tapping music from Crosswinds.

Experience our quality cool climate wines and taste our special wood fire pizzas while enjoying a tranquil and picturesque bushland setting, just five minutes from Daylesford.  Stay in our comfortable self -contained spa villas or just linger for a while and enjoy the perfect surroundings.

All reds are entirely estate grown in our 38 year-old unirrigated vineyard at Zig Zag Road Malmsbury. Our Riesling is a blend of grapes from 3 vineyards in the Macedon Ranges at Kyneton and Hesket.   Our Riesling (2005) and Sparkling Shiraz (2005) have won Gold medals and our reds have consistently won Bronze Medals.
