About Us
Mark and Gina Morgan's boutique vineyard and cellar door is located in the picturesque countryside of Lancefield, one hours drive north of Melbourne. The property is set on the southern slopes of the Great Divide with splendid views of Mount Macedon and the Cobaw Ranges on their back door. The vineyard is set at an altitude of 500 metres, making it suitable for the production of premium chardonnay, pinot noir and sparkling wines.
MorganField produces distinctive cool climate Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. The earliest plantings of some of these vines were made in 1980 to 1982. Pinot Gris was planted in 2005 and "The Sparkling" block will be ready for production in 2008. All this increases the vineyard's production capacity to 10 acres (4ha).
Mark and Gina welcome visitors and group tours (the latter by arrangement) to the vineyard for tastings and sales. Their cellar door offers a selection of gourmet platters and hand made pies, quiches, fresh coffee (including Greek style) and freshly brewed tea and dessert. BBQ facilities are available for the keen cook or simply book a few days ahead and let Mark and Gina organise a cooked lunch for you and your friends.

Featured Wines
- 2005 Chardonnay: medal winner at the Daylesford Wine Show and National Cool Climate Wine Show. The fruit was hand picked at a baume level of 13.9. After fermentation it was transferred to French oak for 20 months. The nose shows orange citrus characters and a nutty, vanillin complexity. The palate is balanced with full ripe melon characters and a long fruity finish typical of a cool climate chardonnay. ‘94 point rating Halliday 2009’.
- 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon: The fruit was hand picked late in April at 12.5 baume. The colour is a deep purple/blackberry hue. The nose is subtlety complex and very varietal with underlying hints of blueberry, mocha and liquorice. The palate is very generous with layer upon layer of rich berry fruit and hearty tannin that glides along the mid palate in to a long fruit driven finish.
