About Us

The first plantings of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, were conducted in 1985, on what were once paddocks that carried sheep and cattle.  The north facing slopes of the dividing range that runs through the Mt.William property were selected for maximum ripening and frost elimination.  These plantings were followed by Cabernet Franc and Semillon in later years.  The vineyard has now, increased plantings of Pinot Noir and the latest variety to be added, Merlot.  Fruit from the Mt.William vineyard has consistently produced award winning wines and is especially known for producing premium sparkling white wines.

Mt.William Winery is also home to Beasley’s Cottage, the original home, which has been beautifully restored and now provides guests with luxurious self contained accommodation, with a touch of yesteryear.

Magnificent gardens surround the homes and buildings and these are constantly being expanded.  Visitors are encouraged to take in the beautiful panoramic views via a short walk, with or without a glass of wine in hand.

Featured Wines: Style

• Macedon blanc de blancs – all chardonnay sparkling. Aperetif style, very delicate. Minimum of 6years on yeast lees.
• Louise Clare Sparkling Red – Blend of Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Cabernets.  6years on yeast lees.  A medium weight sparkling red, with the emphasis on balance of flavour.  Ideal accompaniment to game dishes, duck and Asian dishes.
