Daylesford’s’ Wine Villages Celebrate Budburst - Glenlyon - Musk - Sailors Falls

Experience a progressive lunch at four boutique wineries all within ten minutes of Daylesford, 20 minutes from Kyneton and 30 minutes from Woodend.

Explore the region and take in our neighbouring winery villages: Sailors Falls and Glenlyon, all within 10 minutes of Daylesford.
Robert and Margaret McDonald established Sailors Falls Estate in 1999 on a property adjacent to the land Margaret’s ancestors lived on in the 1860’s. The estate offers high quality self-contained accommodation in a vineyard setting, featuring spas and wood fires, plus award winning and estate grown wines. A great place for a romantic getaway or a relaxing weekend of indulgence, taking in the food and wellness opportunities offered by the premier spa country location of Daylesford just a few minutes away.

As early as the 1860’s vineyards were established around the Hepburn area by our Swiss and Italian pioneers.   A vineyard of 15,000 burgundy and hermitage vines existed near where Villa Parma stands today.  By 1892, there were 30 growers in the area. The pioneers continue to inspire us and we are proud to work cooperatively with Passing Clouds and Ellender Estate to showcase the wines of one of the original wine areas of Australia during the Macedon Ranges Budburst celebrations for 2011.

A journey of discovery to our small wine villages will be most worthwhile and you will unearth some hidden treasures and some truly magnificent wines along the way.

Experience a warm and friendly welcome from our growers and share their passion for cool climate wines and good food.
