About UsWith a love of outdoor life and a passion for drinking quality wine, Barbara & Bob thought the obvious answer was to produce grapes so that they could be part of the supply process. By the time they finally found a suitable site, prepared the ground, planted the rootlings, tended the delicate, young vines, their objectives were extended: they HAD to produce their own wine. They have developed a very small but highly successful vineyard producing multiple award winning wines. Comprising only one hectare each of chardonnay and pinot noir, with just 200 sauvignon blanc vines, they produce Macedon sparkling, chardonnay, pinot noir and minute quantities of rose & sauvignon blanc. Barbara & Bob have both undertaken viticulture courses and they do all the work including hand pruning. They receive help from family and friends at harvest. To prevent damage to the grapes, the crop is hand harvested into small buckets and transported directly to the winery in these. Barbara’s brother, Trefor Morgan of Mount Charlie Winery, makes table wine for them & David Cowburn from Kilchurn Wines makes their sparkling. In 2003 they entered the Macedon Ranges Wine Exhibition, their first wine show. Their 2001 Chardonnay won the trophy for the best chardonnay! They have won medals with each subsequent chardonnay entered in the Exhibition. Their 2005 won a gold medal last year. In 2006 they also won “Best Sparkling Wine” in the Kyneton Show. At the cellar door, you’ll be welcomed by Barbara and/or Bob and provided with the opportunity of sampling their fine wines in a relaxed, informal environment. Take the occasion of Budburst to visit a seldom opened facility. While you are there enjoy the scenic views. You won’t be disappointed! Events
